The founder got his first Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Chemistry, the Chinese Academy of Sciences in the field of polymer chemistry and physics, obtained his second Ph.D. from the Institute of Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering, University of Toronto. He started his career in the biotech industry working in the multidisciplinary field in Canada and United States. His research covers targeted drug delivery of nanoparticles, commercialization of medical grade biodegradable polymers, and polymer coatings for medical devices, long lasting drug delivery by microspheres, oral delivery of biologics, etc.
